We hope this page will provide reassurance that your valuable data, such as credit card details, are protected from prying eyes.
How do you secure my payment information?
We employ state-of-the-art data encryption to ensure safe and secure transactions to our site. WaterIonizerDirectory.com utilizes Elite OV SSL technology by Comodo to encrypt all sensitive data passed by your computer to our web server. Comodo is one of the mosted trusted site security and organization verification companies in the world.
Your computer and ours agree to transpose whatever we are sending into an unintelligible "hash" of characters, using a technology called SSL. For example:

Without the information on your computer or ours, no one can understand our encrypted communication.
For your safety, please expect anyone who communicates confidential information with you on the Internet to use encryption, the way we do.
What is SSL?
Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) is the standard security technology for creating an encrypted link between a web server and a browser. This link ensures that all data passed between our web server and your browser remains private and secure. This system is used by literally millions of websites worldwide to secure internet transactions between the server and the customer.
In order to be able to generate an SSL link (signified by the gold padlock in the information tool bar), a web server requires an SSL Certificate.
How can I tell if a web page is secured?
There are two general indications of a secured web page:
1) Check the web page URL
Normally, when browsing the web, the URLs (web page addresses) begin with the letters "http". However, over a secure connection the address displayed should begin with "https" - note the "s" at the end. Also note in the example below... when on a secure page, FireFox will display a blue box next to the web address that, when clicked, will display the site's security certificate information.
Try it! - Visit our home page (http://www.waterionizerdirectory.com). Note the URL begins with the "http" meaning this page is not secure. Click the link in the upper-right hand corner to "Log in". Notice the change in the URL? It now begins with "https", meaning the user name and password typed in will be encrypted before sent to our server. |
2) Check for the "Lock" icon
There is a de facto standard among web browsers to display a "lock" icon somewhere in the window of the browser (NOT in the web page display area!) For example, Microsoft Internet Explorer displays the lock icon in the upper-right of the browser window (usually in the address bar):
(Mozilla's FireFox Web Browser displays the lock icon in the lower-right corner)
THE LOCK ICON IS NOT JUST A PICTURE! Click (or double-click) on it to see details of the site's security. This is important to know because some fraudulent web sites are built with a bar at the bottom of the web page to imitate the lock icon of your browser! Therefore it is necessary to test the functionality built into this lock icon. Furthermore, it is very important to KNOW YOUR BROWSER! Check your browser's help file or contact the makers of your browser software if you are unsure how to use this functionality.
Try it! - Visit our home page (http://www.waterionizerdirectory.com). Click the link to "Log in" to initiate a secure session. Note the lock icon display in YOUR browser. Click the icon, or double-click (varies by browser), and examine the security information displayed about the web site. If there is no display at the bottom of your browser try clicking "View" in the main menu and make sure "Status Bar" is checked. |
How do I know you are a real organization?
To generate an encrypted SSL transmission, a web server requires an SSL Certificate. Checking a website's certificate is good practice that helps you avoid spoof websites, sometimes called "phishing" sites. To check the certificate, click on the padlock. Your browser will show you the name of the owner of the certificate. This name should match the name of the website operator.
Our SSL certificates are issued by a leading certificate authority, Comodo CA. Comodo is Web Trust and PCI compliant, meaning that their business practices and processes have been rigorously audited according to AICPA (American Institute of Certified Public Accountants) guidelines by an independent approved auditor (Ernst & Young).
Comodo Elite OV SSL Certificates enable a high level of encryption. They also confirm that a company is a legally accountable organization.
To receive an Elite OV SSL Certificate from Comodo, we had to demonstrate to them that we are an existing legitimate business (OV = Organization Verification) including business and address verification and prove we have control over the domain you are visiting. When you browse online, you deserve to be know who you are interacting with.
Seeing a site with an Elite OV SSL Certificate, confirms two essential factors:
1. That you have a secure SSL (encrypted) link with this website
2. That this website represents a real organization
